Recently, we came across a Fan-made sequel (Chainsaw Maid 2) created by Lee Hardcastle. "Chainsaw Maid 2" is a wonderful splatter "buffet" and a great homage to the original.
We spoke with Takena, and got his reaction after watching, what must have been a true labor of love, "Chainsaw Maid 2". You can also read our first interview with Takena, regarding HIS creation: "Chainsaw Maid #1) Here's our discussion with Takena about "Chainsaw Maid 2":
What are your first thoughts after viewing the video?
I was totally amazed, confused and excited. What is it ? Who made this
extremely cool film!?
Are you you happy or un-happy with this video (Chainsaw Maid 2)?
Of course happy!
Tell us what you like about it?
I liked that the characters and sets are recreated well in detail and
the film-maker paid homage to the original. And actions and
cameraworks are so great. Character modeling seems rough, but the flim
is filled with energy.
>What are your feelings about Fan-based video? Not everyone get's them!!!!
I'm very honored and pleased. It's really great that people who liked
my films make another exciting gore film!
>Do you have anything in the works that we should know about? Do you have a Chainsaw Maid 2 in the works?
My first DVD was released recently in Japan and this includes my
newest film, CHAINSAW MAID episode zero. It's a prequel to CHAINSAW
MAID. In this film, the great-great-grandmother of Chainsaw Maid is
the main character, and so the period is set in older days. I also
took on the challenge of changing the face of the doll to reflect
Japanese TV anime style. Of course the film is filled with much more
blood!
And also I want to make my own '2' (or 3 ?) someday !
